"Kevin Max made a statement this year at Cornerstone festival saying that his intentions were to withdraw from future CCM festivals this year. The reason for this decision was based upon the fact that Kevin feels a need to develop and reach audiences outside of the CCM contingent.

This does not mean he does not have a heart for people among the CCM and/or Christian related scenarios. The statement concerning reaching out to the gay community is because of the lack of love and grace the church has shown many gay people.

Kevin Max is not gay, nor does he condone a gay lifestyle, but he believes we should love and not hate. This goes also for people of different religious persuasion, people with addictions, people with sordid pasts, etc. We can only learn and work together to build a community of believer's through the example of Christ, who made it His life effort to reaching the people on the fringe."
